Life goes on!!

People come and people go.. I have realized that holding onto them is like postponing the inevitable... we make friends, we lose them.... Promises of phone calls and e-mails on parting .... and as time flows, their frequency gradually reduce, until one day they stop!!!School friends are replaced by college ones and college ones by office colleagues!!!Life flows on, and boats come up ,flow with yours for some time and then float away!!!Saying bye is difficult!!However it's a momentary phase of sorrow which soon passes away!!You see....Life goes on!!

oh
so this post is like a subtle hint to all of us, eh?

why postpone the 'inevitable', anoop? just delete the names from the contact list right now. and stop calling / mailing.

I think it's a sad view-point to acknowledge. Most people hold on to it, but at least they pretend they don't know they're doing so. They like to be lazy.

However, since you have actually acknowledged the problem in public, I think as an intelligent, caring and lovable character you should've said, 'Life goes on. And that's ok, but I don't want to lose my friends. So I will stay in touch with them...yay!'

and trust me, with internet access / email at your side in a software setup, it's easy for you.

And a guy who shifted over the latter point of view is Somu. Talk to him sometime for his reasons...

dada, wrt 'should be from both sides'
that's the point I am making zigackly (Asterix and the Laurel Wreath).

let's say you are chums with this guy John at campus. Helps you with books, notes etc, gives you tips on profs, shares passion for Iron Maiden with you, blah blah. He passes out, gets job in Bangalore. A batch later you pass out and get job in Pune. He thinks of you at times, and so do you. This may happen even at intervals of, say, three-four months, maybe more.

If you hold back on calling thinking a) life moves on, or b) it'll sure be awkward after all this time, then by my viewpoint you are missing on something in life. And if you hold back 'cos of point (a) then like I said earlier, that's an intelligent submission of a dumb thing.

I believe with friends u can always start from the point u left...
The thing which is "momentary" is the silence in between.

Shikha:me too...but only one or two..I mean, there are so many who we try to hold onto but can't.

Neelima:Hmmm...does this have anything to do with you not calling me or vice-versa???;)
