The Nearly Missed Tag~~~

I was glancing through Ekta's blog and got this tag ...... liked it and decided to tag myself..actually decided to take a walk down memory lane!!!It's a Friday, got the weekend to look forward to and essentially, my PM has not come..so I can sit and day-dream for some time!!!
I didn't think my list would run into double figures..Now, if I think some more, it would touch the 3 figure mark too....so essentially, these are the stuff I would miss most.....Haaaah..Nostalgia revisited!!!

1)I miss those train journeys with my family to Kerala(where my home-town is), begging my Dad to buy junk food and fruit juices at every 2nd station, and hopping around from one upper berth to another.

2)I miss playing football in the rain and sliding around in the muddy field.....

3)I miss getting lambasted by my elder cousins (they seemed to be devils pesonified then) and then getting treats from them (oh! oh!! actually angels in devils disguises)..

4) I miss fighting with my younger sis..cause when u grow old, you are supposed to act matured and punching sisters on the nose is not a sign of maturity....

5)I miss cuddling upto my mom and listening to one story after another....

6)I miss playing touch rugby with my class mates at school during Break...(However I don't miss the thrashing I used to get from Mom, when I used to come back with torn trousers and muddied shirts looking like a Prisoner of War)

7)I miss holding onto my grandpa's hand and walking through green fields and streams...Me asking one dumb question after another ..and he always giving a sensible answer!!

8)I miss those school and college fests....the sore throats after screaming your lungs out...cheering some and booing most....and of course performing ridiculous skits on stage...

9)I miss playing badminton till 3-4 in the morning at hostel and then going to college and getting caught by professors for sleeping in the class!!!

10)I miss sitting with my training batch mates in a nearby park...watching the setting sun, munching on hot peanuts and washing it all down with the most scrumptious glasses of watermelon and mango shakes(the fact that it's only 5 bucks, makes it even more tastier).

11) I miss the fights(they seem so silly now) in college as well as the pre-election campaigns or the Arts fest preparations!!

12)And of course I miss all those friends from school to college to training batch, who are in various nooks and corners of the world......Thank God for telephones and emails and of course..Orkut:)

Tagging Shikha, Kannan, Prad , Matty, Deepa, Niki~chan and anyone else who wants to take a walk down memory lane!!!

Kolkata Revisited.

I am back after a wonderful trip to Kolkatta!Just enjoyed my stay, far from work at office, lazing around at home and in the evening strolling down the streets of old cal, munching on an egg roll(something a bengali or a half blooded one will die for), watching the trams trundling along and the puchkawalas (panipuri hawkers) dishing out their gastronomic treats. With elections coming up, the city was painted red with communist posters and banners.Long processions kept passing by with "zindabad" ringing in the air.

Oh yeah..after a long time I was able to watch the movie Lakshya!!!!Seems very late, but better late than never(Great movie). The old 'adda' friends have shifted base to bangalore and mumbai, so couldn't hang around much with the guys or maybe have a game of cricket!!!I walked through the alleys of New-market, the smell of freshly baked cakes from "Nahums" (bakery) floating in the air and the old Boer war cannon ,standing sentry to the bygone British era at the very centre of the market, as it has stood for 50 years(it will be shifted to the town hall soon).

As usual at this time of the year, it was hot and sticky and getting out of home, was a labour in itself!!Oh yeah, after stuffing myself with all kinds of junk food,I was laid up in bed for 2 days with a stomach upset.Anyway the next day, I was back to stuffing myself with more grub...after all don't know when I can enjoy such stuff again....the hot Rasogollas to the cool Mishti dhoi(sweet curd)....Mutton Biriyani and paav bhaji cooked by mom and Chocolate cakes by my sis(had a hard time convincing her to make it!!)....haaaaaaaa!!!!And of course nothing can beat the panipuris (called puchkas here)..."they just melt in ur mouth".Anyway, 2 days before I was to return, the first showers of the year fell to give a welcome relief from the heat.Oh yeah...the white shirt I was wearing was stained with black polka dots, what with the rain cleaning up the dirt accumulated on the leaves of the trees for more than 4-5 months .Talk about dancing in the rain!!!

So did I spend time eating only?????Hmmm....you can say that!!!You see...It's a Gourmet Affaire!!

Now me back in pune, in front of my dear, old computer....back to square one..but all ready for the next job which could come up any time now....bring it on!!I am ready!!!

P.S: Hmmmm...when do I go home next???? Kolkata..I already miss u!!
